“To always remind me of home” Compass Tattoo.

Kraft + June Challenge

This month Kraft + challenge is to use just one colour with Kraft card stock. So I decided to use the Bombay Sunset papers from Kaisercraft and I have used the Aqua/Green. Here is the layout. The photo was taken of my daughter’s new compass tattoo and she told me that no matter where she journeys in this world, “it will always remind her of where home is”

This is my finished layout.

If you wish to purchase these beautiful papers you can find them here.

Good Times Tags for Scrapmatts Design Team

Good Times Packaging Tags

These Good Times tags were inspired by my friend Rosalie.   She used her packaging to create some amazing mixed media tags which I decided would be a great way to use up my packaging and create some tags myself.

The base of this Good Times tag is from a Prima flowers package and it featured a collage of words printed on it. For the background I used some clear gesso and some modelling paste which creates texture when used with the gears and lattice stencils from Scrapmatts and I have coloured the tag with Antique Gold, Coffee and Turquoise Mists from Kaisercraft. So to finish off I also added the Finnabair mechanical and charms along with Gold Mica powder to colour the metal embellishments.

Merlin’s Beard

Welcome to March. Already this year is flying past. March happens to be my favourite month, as I celebrate my birthday in the first week and lucky for me in the West (Western Australia) it always falls on a long weekend.

This month we have been asked to guest design for the CSI Challenge.
Head over to see all the other amazing designers and their work.

So here is the Case file that I have used to design my layout this month.

Merlin’s Beard
This is my completed layout based on the CSI Case File.

EVIDENCE: I have used washi tape, things that fly, animals, circles, wood, feathers, stars.
TESTIMONY: I have handwritten on my background and started with an idiom.

Cayenne Challenge

Hello and Welcome

I am posting this layout again, as I had removed it for consideration to Scrapbook Memories magazine, unfortunately it wasn’t accepted.

So I wanted to share with you all, as this is one of my favourite layouts. It features my father with his 4th grandson the day he was born. Such a beautiful memory documented. It is now framed and I gifted it to him for Christmas.

I wanted to show that you can give it a feminine influence with the flowers but still have male elements on the page.

Ho Ho Holy Christmas – Scrapmatts DT

Hello again.
I hope we all got through Christmas and the New Year.

I wanted to share with you my projects that I worked on for Scrapmatts just before Christmas.

The month was really busy with work, Christmas parties, appointments, market stalls that I didn’t have much time to create.
So it was nice to finally get into my craft space and design.
The first of my projects I would like to share with you is a mini clipboard.
I started by covering with Christmas paper. I think from memory this is a Simple Stories range.
It’s been in my Christmas stash for some time.
I then used the ST5042 Star Stencil to add some detail to the background.
With the CB5158 Triangles, I pulled them apart, painted them with Picket Fence Distress Paint and added to them to the background.
When I look at these they resemble Christmas Trees.
To finish off the clipboard, I attached the CB5164 Holly 05 to the top of the frame and added a CB5144 Layered Poinsettia to the bottom of the frame.
The gold Polaroid frame came with the mini clipboard.
To colour the Poinsettia and Holly I used my alcohol ink markers and to give the sparkly effect, I used my glitter pen from CTMH.
To finish off the frame I used the CB Assorted Words 19 – Christmas Memories.
This was inked in Silver.

The picture is of my daughter from a couple of years ago when we had photo booth props to take Christmas pics.

Here is a list of the products used in this project
The second project I would like to share with you is a set of 3 Christmas Cards.

To create these cards I have used watercolour pencils, background stamp, ST1026 – Bubbles Stencil and CB1227 – Christmas Ornaments and CB1229 – Chains
Firstly using watercolour paper, take the stencil and colour inside the circles in your desired colours.
Then take your watercolour pen and water wash the colours.
Then stamp the background.
I then added a border with my black marker pen.

I used the CB1227 – Christmas Ornaments and the CB1229 – Chains 02 to decorate.
Some I have left raw and the others I have inked in Gold and Silver.
I love how these have turned out and they were quick and easy.
These are the products I have used to create these cards

Christmas Birdhouse Decoration & Layout

Welcome to another cold and wet day here in the West.
I am so over this cold weather and I am really looking forward to Summer.
I’m here with you today sharing my latest projects for Scrapmatts Design Team.
The first is an off the page project.
I found this little birdhouse at my local Spotlight store and thought it would make a fantastic addition to my Christmas Decorations.
I started by covering it with some Kaisercraft Silver Bells paper but you could just leave it plain if you like.
I then used the large Christmas Star from CB6081 to frame the hole & I cut the centre from the star so that it would still leave the hole open.
Around the base I added a small picket fence.
To cover the roof  I used some gauze and then placed the webbing over the top to give it the look of branches.

I then sprayed the whole thing with a can of silver spray paint.
Once that was dry, I covered it with Diamond Dust to add some sparkle.
I also used the smaller Christmas stars from CB6081 to add to the sides of the birdhouse.

To finish it off I added some birds and wrapped some Christmas star tinsel around it.
The large bird was from my stash, the leaves were from a Christmas ornament that I picked up from the Salvo’s (thrift shop). I just pulled it apart and layered them under the bird. They were already silver.

So with the help of some props, this is the finished birdhouse. I was very happy with the finished project. It will make a nice addition to the Christmas decorations this year.

The other project I would like to share with you is a single page layout.
The papers used are from Kaisercraft Time Machine Collection.
Firstly I started with the Circle Stain Stencil (One of my favourites) and used Kaiser’s Coffee Spray mist and sprayed through the stencil and then let shook the stencil over my page to get the drops.
On this page I have used the smallest string circle, the lamps, cogs border 10 (cut to make the cluster) and some assorted words.
I have coloured them using Prima’s Rust Effect Paste in Red Dust and Brown Rust.
You can find all of these products at
Here are a list of the chipboard I have used.
Firstly on the Birdhouse.

I hope you have all enjoyed looking at my projects and until next time may you continue to Dream*Create*Inspire
Happy Crafting
